New Galway-Dublin Airport service

Irish Citylink, the independent coach operator headquartered in Galway, will launch a new direct coach service between Galway and Dublin Airport.

The service, which will operate under a newly launched brand, eireagle.com, begins on Wednesday May 1. It will bypass Dublin city and provide eight daily eireagle services, in addition to Irish Citylink’s existing express services between Galway and Dublin city and airport.

The eireagle.com coaches will have free Wi-Fi, onboard toilet facilities, air conditioning, reclining seats, and legroom. Promotional fares of €25 return are available for May by booking in advance on www.eireagle.com

Tidy Towns seeks volunteers to weekend

Galway City Tidy Towns members will be in Bowling Green this Saturday from 11am to carry out painting, sweeping, cleaning, weeding, and litter picking.

The group will meet at Nora Barnacles House at 11am and Galway City Tidy Towns chair, Labour city councillor Niall McNelis is calling on anyone who can volunteer to come and help out with the clean-up. Galway Tidy Towns is also launching a new project called ‘Adopt A Spot’ where groups are asked to get together and keep a chosen area of the city litter free, remove graffiti tags, and take down fly posters.

The project will be open to residents’ associations, businesses, schools, and voluntary groups. Details will be launched within the next fortnight.
