A Galway hotel has scooped a top award for the standard of its accommodation.

The Connemara Coast Hotel was presented with a gold star award in the four-star hotel category by the Irish Accommodation Services Institute - the national body that represents the accommodation industry.

There were 27 finalists in this category, of which the Connemara Coast Hotel received a gold award for achieving excellence in accommodation services standards for the quality, hygiene and cleanliness of its bedrooms and public areas. This is the fourth year running the hotel's accommodation team has received awards from the IASI.

General manager Ann Downey says receiving a high level of recognition from the industry for another year is a "very gratifying reward for the excellent level of service offered to guests by our full team of staff here at the Connemara Coast Hotel and it is an accolade that we are all very proud of".
