Collection of works by the late John Cunningham to raise funds for Galway Hospice

The family of the late John Cunningham will launch a collection of his writings this evening. All proceeds from the book, which takes its title As I Saw It from Mr Cunningham’s popular ‘As I See It’ column in the Connacht Tribune, will go to the Galway Hospice Foundation.

Mr Cunningham, former group editor of the Connacht Tribune, was renowned for his uncanny knowledge of a host of subjects, his whimsical humour, and enviable memory.

Through his columns, a selection of which has been compiled into this book, he offered his unique insight into subjects as quirky and diverse as Mass servers, childhood fears, the Sunday fry, the parcel from America, man flu, and brown envelopes.

As I Saw It will be launched by Sean O’Rourke of RTE News At One today (Thursday ) at 6.30pm on The Ardilaun.
