Ardvarna to launch new album

OUGHTERARD’S FAVOURITE traditional music group, Ardvarna, launch their new CD The Lakeshore Town on Sunday in the Crane Bar.

Group member Pat Conneely’s links to the Crane Bar go back almost 30 years, and as a result owner Mick Crehan will perform the honours at 6.30pm.

The Lakeshore Town is a follow-up to Mayfly Days which was released in 2001, and the new CD’s title song has been written by member Gerry D’Arcy documenting the start of the fishing season and the scenery around Oughterard.

The CD also boasts the art work of well known Galway musician Joe Dolan (ex Sweeney’s Men ) who passed away earlier this year.

“Joe Dolan, singer, songwriter, musician, artist, and a great friend of the group, sadly passed away earlier this year,” said Gerrry. “He gave some of his original art work for the CD cover and two signed pieces are included, which the group are very proud of.”

Many friends, followers, and fellow musicians are expected at The Crane Bar for the launch of the CD and a great night’s music and song.
