Galway jobs fair will help companies and jobseekers

A significant number of companies from the west of Ireland are already signed up for the Skillnets Jobs Fair which will take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Galway on Sunday October 14.

The fair will provide an opportunity for local companies to meet with jobseekers to fill available vacancies.

The event is free for local companies to participate. Each company needs to have live job vacancies and be in a position to talk to suitably qualified candidates to fill these vacancies.

Local companies already signed up include Bluebird Care, Goodman Medical, Acorn Life, Ericsson Athlone, HP, Multiflex, Solano Tech and Fidelity Investments.

Sean Lyons, managing director of Bluebird Care, a national healthcare organisation with a base in Galway, says: “Bluebird Care is a fast growing company and sees the Skillnets Jobs Fair as a great way of recruiting new staff in the locality.”

Alan Nuzum, CEO of Skillnets, added: “This is the perfect opportunity for local companies to match local jobs with local people. A range of jobs will be on offer in a variety of sectors including medical devices, IT, healthcare and financial services to name a few and we are expecting a large number of jobseekers to respond to this initiative.”

Information seminars and career workshops will also take place during the day for job-seekers, while local Skillnets networks will also be providing information on the diverse range of training courses available, not only in the west, but nationwide. The Skillnets Jobs Fair takes place from 10am to 5.30pm.

Companies that are actively recruiting in the west and would like to join the Skillnets Jobs Fair can telphone 01-207 9630 or email jobsfair@ skillnets.com
