Kia drives Team Ireland in London

Kia Motors Ireland is sending a fleet of Sportage and Optima Models to London to help Team Ireland with their logistics for the Olympic Games.

The cars will be based at the Team Ireland’s training camp at Lensbury /St Marys in Teddington where most of the team will be based in the coming weeks. Among those based at Lensbury will be participants in athletics, badminton, cycling, canoeing, gymnastics and modern pentathlon. One of the Sportages is headed for Weymouth where the sail team will be based.

Present as the cars departed for London,Olympic Council of Ireland president Pat Hickey said: “Driving this fleet of Irish registered 12D cars will give the Irish team a unique identity in London and we are delighted and thankful for the support of Kia Motors Ireland in this regard.”

Kia Motors Ireland managing director James Brooks said the compnay was proud to support Ireland’s Olympians.

“Kia is a dynamic challenger brand and we are proud to support Team Ireland in London as they face their own personal challenges in the month ahead.”
