Cannabis grower to be sentenced next year

A man who was growing cannabis plants in an apartment in the centre of Tuam town will be sentenced next year.

Radoslaw Deregowski, with an address at 2 Fahy’s Flats, High Street, Tuam, pleaded guilty before Galway Circuit Criminal Court last week to being found in possession of cannabis herb at High Street, Tuam, on April 12 2007.

He also pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis plants without a licence at his apartment in High Street, Tuam, on the same date.

Defence barrister John O’Donnell requested that a probation report be prepared on is client prior to sentencing. Judge Groarke directed the preparation of a report and he adjourned the matter to January 13 next, when a date will be fixed for sentencing.
