On Saturday night, Junior Chamber Ireland will hold the National Top Outstanding Young Person of the Year (TOYP ) Gala awards dinner in Cloonacauneen Castle, Claregalway.
The Gala dinner and awards ceremony shall commemorate the achievements of some of the most talented and inspiring young people in Ireland aged 18-40. Whether it is in academic accomplishment, service to humanity, scientific endeavour, or entrepreneurial or cultural achievement TOYP seeks to acknowledge those who have made significant contribution to the betterment of our communities. Attendees will have the opportunity of listening to some of the most inspirational young people in Ireland. The event is part of an international programme overseen by Junior Chamber International with the overall winner being given an opportunity to represent Ireland at the Junior Chamber World Congress in Taiwan later this year.
Past winners have included NUIG medical student Melanie Hennessy who was a deserving world award winner for her outstanding humanitarian work in Nepal.
Commenting on the event, Junior Chamber Galway President Anne-Marie Shanahan said that, “this programme rewards deserving members of our community who provide a source of inspiration to us all. Whether it is in their creative talents, sheer determination or solid business acumen these young people possess the very characteristics that represent the pinnacle of Irish talent.”
The evening will consist of a gala sparkling wine reception, banquet, musical entertainment and awards ceremony and members of the public are especially welcome to attend and enjoy the evening in the glamour of the castle.
