Learn a language over six weekends

The Granary Learning Centre is offering a convenient way to complete a beginner course in Spanish, German, or Italian over six weekend days in May and June. By the end of the course the student will achieve A1 level in language competence according to the European ranking scheme. Class times are scheduled to allow attendees to travel to Galway in the morning and be home again by the evening. Each course is taught by two qualified teachers who are both native speakers with many years of experience.

These courses were created specifically for learners who either do not have access to a language school in the community in which they live or who cannot attend evening classes during the week. The classes start at 10am on either Saturday or Sunday during six consecutive weekends. There will be four, one and a half hour teaching blocks during the day with breaks between each for refreshment and relaxation. The classes finish by 5.15pm, allowing everyone to be home by dinner time.

The school is located directly on the River Corrib in Galway city centre. The class rooms are quiet, modern, and equipped with interactive white boards and internet access. The teachers have developed the course to be extremely practical, focusing mainly on speaking and listening, which are the basic language skills needed for short stays in each country. If students want to further develop their language skills after the course there are follow-on courses planned.
