Heated Power Yoga to launch more classes this week

Celebrating their first year in business, proprietors Ken and Natasha Coffey have announced that Heated Power Yoga is launching four more classes per week in a new venue in Briarhill Business Park from next week. This will bring the schedule of classes to 16 per week across four venues in Galway city and county.

Heated Power Yoga is a challenging workout performed in a room at 30ºC. The heat of the room allows for deeper expressions of the poses while challenging the body to burn more calories and burn toxins.

Heated Power Yoga is based on the Barkan method of yoga. Jimmy Barkan, founder of the method, was Bikram Choudry's top instructor for many years. His sequence is based on 50 poses and incorporates many of the same postures found in the Bikram style as well as postures from other lineages such as Iyengar and Ashtanga disciplines. The poses move the body in all directions while strengthening and toning the entire body. The postures change slightly each week, further challenging the body and exploring the full range and wide experience that yoga offers. The practice works every muscle, every joint, ligament, and tendon in the body. It balances the strength of the body, including the back and core, often neglected in workouts, while increasing flexibility and improving balance.

While the practice is especially helpful for healing and preventing sports injuries, it is also for every person at any fitness level. In addition Heated Power Yoga is affordable with rates starting at only €5. Drop ins are welcome.
