Stylish new Hyundai i30 offers real substance

Hyundai has launched its new five-door i30 hatchback. Prices start at €17,995 ex-works for the entry level Elite 1.4 petrol model, while the starting price for the diesel Elite 1.4 diesel model is €19,995 ex-works.

First launched in 2007, the outgoing i30 was the first ‘i’ product in Hyundai’s range and introduced new standards of quality and driveability to the Hyundai product line-up. Hyundai boasts the new generation i30 will build on the achievements of the cars it replaces, bringing with it a new level of style, interior quality, and technology.

The new generation Hyundai i30 will be available with the choice of either petrol or diesel engines – including Hyundai’s latest ultra-efficient 1.6-litre diesel unit that emits less than 100g/km CO2. The powerful, yet efficient, unit is available with an output of 110bhp.

Certainly, the new generation i30 represents another leap forward in terms of Hyundai’s design, and the Korean carmaker says this is matched by greater refinement and even better build quality.

Hyundai also boasts in addition to good standard specification, it offers an excellent back-up service and support in the form of the five year triple care assurance. “The new generation i30 represents the complete package for compact family car customers looking for a high-quality vehicle at an affordable price,” the company states.

Standard specification on the Elite range includes: air conditioning; LED lights F/R; alarm system; ESP, brake assist system, vehicle stability management; static bending H/lamp; front fog lights; glove box cooler; and USB + aux ports.

Additional standard specification on the i30 Elite plus range includes: alloy wheels; cruise control; Bluetooth with voice recognition; electric folding mirrors; flex steer system; front centre arm rest; and a number of trim items.
