Windsurfing school wins national award

Rusheen Bay Windsurfing has been named the Irish Sailing Association’s Training Centre of the Year for 2011.

The school, which was nominated for two Irish Sailing Association awards, beat off tough competition from four other welloestablished training centres to take the MGM Boats-sponsored award.

The school’s manager Daniel King had also been nominated as 2011 Instructor of the Year.

King, an accomplished windsurfer, has played a key role in a successful first season under the new management of Danny Mulryan.

Mulryan said: “We are delighted to have been nominated for both awards. It is very rewarding to see all the hard work pay off. We have many more changes to make to the school and look forward to an even more successful 2012.”

Rusheen Bay will open for the 2012 season on Saturday April 7.
