Grand Pocket Orchestra @ Róisín Dubh

IRISH ART-pop eccentrics Grand Pocket Orchestra will undertake something of a ‘mini-residency’ in the Róisín Dubh this month when they play two nights at Strange Brew.

GPO will play Strange Brew on Thursday March 8 and Thursday March 22. The band say audiences can expect “Glockenspiel based injuries and possible flashes of male genitalia”. Totally Dublin have called them “dazzled Baroque pop...Dublin’s foremost toy pop micro symphony”.

The quartet have also released two albums, their 2010 debut The Ice Cream and Ronald & Sylma, which came out last week.

Support at the first show is from Land Lovers and No Monster Club while on the second night, the aforementioned bands will be joined by the intriguing new indie-pop act Dott, led by songwriter Anna McCarthy. Admission to the March 8 gig is free and March 22 is €5.
