Jape returns to Galway next month

THE BRILLIANT Jape, one of the most creative and imaginative singer-songwriters in Ireland, makes a welcome return to Galway next month.

Jape will play Strange Brew at the Róisín Dubh on Thursday February 2 at 9pm as part of a nation-wide tour.

2011 was an excellent year for the Dubliner with his fourth album Ocean of Frequency, released on music/is/for/losers, being met with enormous critical acclaim. The Sunday Times made it its Irish album of the year, while it reached number two in Nialler9’s Irish albums of the year, and number seven for the Irish Independent.

Jape’s previous album, Ritual, won the Choice Music Prize in 2008. Jape began making music in 2003. Originally started as the solo project of Richard Egan (The Redneck Manifesto ), the band has evolved over the years into one of the most exciting live acts in the country.

Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and www.roisindubh.net
