Bábógbaby set to make his TV debut next year

Win one of two Bábógbabies in our free competition

Locally conceived bilingual BB Bear has just been signed up for a TV animation series and will make his debut soemtime next summer.

“BB agus Bella”, a pre-school series based on the bear incorporating language learning, will be seen on TG4 in 2012 funded through the BAI.

To mark the success of Bábógbaby, creator Adrian Devane is offering our readers the chance to win one of two Bábógbabies ina competition in today’s Advertiser.

Bábógbaby (fondly known as BB Bear ) based in Moycullen, was set-up in early 2010 to provide tools and toys for toddlers, children and parents to learn those first cúpla focal. Since the development of BB, it has become a huge success story with more than 30,000 toys sold in the past year and is now available in more than 100 stores in Ireland, online at www.babogbaby.com and across 14 states in the US.

The success story is set to continue for the educational toy as Adrian Devane Adrian Devane is also a finalist in the JCI Galway Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2011 and wa shonoured by Galway Chamber of Commerce. Now, he is looking forward to introducing bears in new languages, and a unique BB app for the iphone, ipad and itouch has also been developed, providing the same function of the actual teddybear.

“It is an honour to be recognised by my fellow Galway businesses” said CEO Adrian Devane on receiving the Chamber award. “I saw a gap in the market when, after having our first child, my wife Karen and I noticed there were lots of toys available but none that spoke or taught Irish,” says Mr Devane. “So I investigated what was out there, took apart a few teddies and discovered how it all works.

“ Next up was to design a teddy that ‘spoke’ about 30 words. I decided the words should be for numbers, colours and shapes, and with my designer here in Galway we created our teddy bear BB. I recorded my then four-year-old daughter Robyn saying the words and after months of changes and improvements we arrived with a BB that we are all very happy with.” added Mr Devane.

Bábógbaby will feature at the Galway Continental Christmas Market until this Sunday December 18 and is available all year round in Smyths, ArtNHobby, Arnotts, Clerys, BellaBaby Dundrum Town Centre, Toymaster, World of Wonder Galway, participating Eason stores, additional toy stores across the country and www.babogbaby.com You can also check it on BB via Facebook and on Twitter– just search for Babogbaby.
