Mercedes-Benz in Ireland has fastened on to the importance of social media with its arrival on Facebook and the launch of its new interactive movie Drive & Seek, which went live recently.
The move is being made in anticipation of new model introductions yet to come when Facebook is expected to play an important role in appealing to a new generation of younger drivers for whom forthcoming models like the new A-Class will have a particular appeal.
To celebrate its Facebook debut, a six-weeks long competition is being run for which the prize is a trip to Stuttgart, home of the three-pointed-star. There, the entertainment will include a visit to the award-winning Mercedes-Benz museum where all of the iconic cars of yesteryear are displayed. Other attractions awaiting the winner include a visit to the renowned Stuttgart Christmas Market.
Mercedes-Benz sales manager in Ireland, Ciaran Allen, said: “Ever since 1886, Mercedes-Benz has been using latest technology in appealing to new generations of car owners. Our entry on to Facebook is but another step in that process.”
