Investigation into Glenamaddy murder continues

The investigation into the murder of a Latvian man is continuing with gardai seeking the whereabouts of a man who is wanted for questioning in relation to the incident.

The body of 30-year-old Juris Buls was found last Saturday in a wooded area near the village of Creggs, about 10km from his home at Ballymore Road, Glenamaddy. Mr Buls had been missing since July 7.

Fellow Latvian national Sergejs Krauze (35 ), from Dudley Heights in Glenamaddy, was arrested and brought before a special sitting of Tuam District Court in Galway last Sunday and formally charged in relation to withholding information in connection with the disappearance. Krauze was remanded in custody to appear before Judge Geoffrey Browne at Tuam District Court on Tuesday where he was further remanded to the sitting of Harristown District Court on August 5 next.

On Monday the investigation was upgraded to a murder inquiry following the results of a post-mortem investigation. It is understood that gardai are seeking a second man for the purpose of questioning as part of their investigation, however, it is thought that he may have left the jurisdiction.
