Galway’s Sinead Cahalan face to face with Offaly’s Arlene Watkins in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship, round four at Pearse Stadium.

The Galway senior camogie team heads to the capital on Saturday with high hopes of registering a win over a Dublin side that has yet to collect any points from their four games.

Dublin went down very heavily, 4-17 to 0-4, last weekend against Cork, while Galway enjoyed a good win in Pearse Stadium last Saturday, defeating Offaly 1-25 to 2-4.

Martina Conroy got the team off to a flyer in the sixth minute with a goal from a free before Noel Finn’s charges took a 1-15 to 1-2 lead at half time. They were never going to be caught from that position and ran out easy winners.

Niamh Kilkenny and Anne Marie Starr, who was selected as player of the match, were very strong for the Tribeswomen at midfield and they ensured plenty of supply for a rampant forward division.

Team captain Brenda Hanney, Sandra Tannian, Aislinn Connolly, Noreen Coen and Tara Rutledge kept the umpires busy in both halves and, only for two terrific saves by Offaly goalkeeper Pamela Nugent from Veronica Curtin and Aislinn Connolly, it would have been much worse for the Faithful county.

Galway have six points from four games now and they will be expected to make that eight points from five this weekend.

The game is fixed for the Naomh Mearnog grounds at 3pm

Scorers for Galway: M Conroy 1-7(1-6 ), S Tannian 0-4, B Hanney 0-3, N Coen 0-3, A Connolly 0-3 (0-1, 0-1 ), T Rutledge 0-2, N Kilkenny 0-1, O Kilkenny 0-1, V Curtin 0-1.
