'TwinAir' model line for Fiat 500

Such was the reaction to Fiat’s revolutionary International Engine of the Year winning two-cylinder TwinAir engine, it inspired Fiat Group Automobiles to create an entirely new model line to perfectly match the car's distinctive personality.

TwinAir uses the latest Fiat powertrain technology to mate performance and character with incredible efficiency.

Available in TwinAir and TwinAir plus guises, the new models are easily recognised thanks to their black alloy wheels, burnished-metal effect mouldings, rear spoiler and chrome tailpipe, while the interior also gets burnished-metal effect accents and sports seats. In addition, TwinAir models will only be offered in a variety of vibrant colours such as pearlescent red, tropicalia yellow, electroclash grey and midnight black.

Prices for the Irish market are still being finalised, but the new model should be on forecourts in the autumn, offering greater value to the customer compared to a similarly-specified Lounge or Sport models.

Fiat 500 Tops German JD Power Survey

German motorists have ranked the Fiat 500 top in a vehicle owner satisfaction study conducted by leading market research agency, J D Power and Associates.

The drivers of more than 17,000 vehicles, bought during or prior to 2009, took part in the online survey, rating their ownership experience across 67 different areas within four main categories: Vehicle appeal (32 per cent ); quality and reliability (26 per cent ); running costs (22 per cent ) and dealership experience (20 per cent ).

With a total score of almost 82 per cent in the "city car" category, Fiat 500 topped a segment that has traditionally been dominated by German and Japanese models, highlighting the consistently high quality standards of Fiat products and the strides being made by Fiat Group Automobiles to improve customer service and the performance of its dealer network.
