Brigit’s Garden will celebrate mid-summer with fire, theatre, rhythm and fun at Splanc! an interactive fire spectacular this Saturday from 7.30 to 11.30pm.
Splanc! meaning spark, is a modern spin on the ancient Celtic festival and the bonfire traditions of St John’s Eve. Splanc is an all ages event and there will be drumming sessions; a DJ set in the Hazel Room; and Blue Teapot Theatre will perform excerpts from Shakespeare’s A Mid-summer Night’s Dream.
The highlight of the evening will be a torch-light procession through the garden with pageantry provided by fire dancers, drummers, and costumed performers, culminating in the lighting of twin solstice bonfires.
Visitors are invited to become an interactive part of the celebration and to come in costume if they wish. There will also be children’s entertainment, face-painting, and a food and wine bar.
Tickets are €14 (adults ), €35 (family of five ), €10 (concessions ), and €7 (children ), and are available at the door. For more information contact Brigit’s Garden on 091 - 550905 or see www.brigitsgarden.ie
