New website to encourage first time buyers into the market

A new website - www.getmoving.ie - will be launched to encourage first time buyers into the housing market by providing them with up-to-date availability and house price comparisons throughout the Galway region.

The website is to be launched within the next two weeks and follows from the recent First Time Buyers meeting giving details on the Home Choice Loans Scheme, hosted by Galway West Fianna Fáil TD Frank Fahey.

Dep Fahey, along with Joe McGrath of An Rí Design, have developed www.getmoving.ie in the hope it will provide a fresh approach to offering valuable information about the property market for first time buyers.

So far some 20 different developers, with new houses for sale in Galway county and city, have come on board to support the initiative. They see it as a move towards reigniting interest in the property market for first time buyers.

All who attended the recent Home Choice Loans Scheme meeting agreed it is necessary to encourage confidence in the first time buyer and in order to do that getmoving.ie will provide up to date prices and comparisons and any incentive provided by individual developers.

Some developers will be offering a price guarantee which is an added incentive for the first time buyer not to hold back on buying a property by waiting for prices to fall further. How the price guarantee will work will vary with each developer but terms will be advertised on the website.

This guarantee is encouraging developers to advertise their best possible price for properties and this will be evident with the price comparison facility on the website. Full information about the Home Choice Loans Scheme, that was announced earlier this month, will be provided on www.getmoving.ie

Those who want to feature on the website can do so on www.getmoving.ie or by calling Joe McGrath at An Rí Design on 091 - 739576.
