Appalachia and Ireland mix in I Draw Slow

FANS OF roots, Irish trad, Americana, folk, and old-time music, will be looking forward to Irish quintet I Draw Slow, who will launch their new album in Galway this weekend.

I Draw Slow - Dave Holden (guitar ) and Louise Holden (vocals ), Adrian Hart (violin ), Colin Derham (banjo ), and Konrad Liddy (double bass ) - will launch their second album Red Hills upstairs in Kelly’s Bar this Sunday at 9pm.

The Dublin band’s sound is rooted in a mix of Appalachian Mountain music and Irish trad, and features lyrics of debauchery and trouble.

The band have enjoyed acclaim from music critics, with The Irish Times awarding their debut album, Downside, four stars and Hotpress praising its “real sense of joy, delicious performances”. The Event Guide said: “The band manages to fuse its Irish roots with a distinctly American sound – but make it all their own.”
