Galway is the next stop on the world tour squash calendar when this Easter weekend some of the world’s top squash players will be in action.
The Paddy ‘Whack’ Walsh West of Ireland Open, sponsored by Garavan’s Bar, returns to its traditional Easter date, and for the fifth successive year will attract top professional players from the world circuit.
The tournament is one of the most popular events on the Irish squash fixture list and for the first time it will feature a professional ladies’ section which will run alongside the annual men’s professional event.
The competition will be played in Galway Lawn Tennis Club starting today (Thursday ) and will continue throughout the weekend with the final scheduled for Easter Sunday (1pm ). Admission to the event is free.
