Grenades returns for Cúirt

NUALA KELLY loves Thin Lizzy and The Undertones, but she loves her older brother Oran even more. In fact she idolises him.

Fast forward ten years and she is visiting him in prison. Nuala’s innocence has taken a battering now her brother in in gaol, an event which forces her to re-live the events of her childhood and make sense of them all.

This is Grenades by Tara McKevitt which will be staged by Galway’s Mephisto Theatre in the Town Hall Theatre studio from April 12 to 16 at 8pm as part of the Cúirt International Festival of Literature.

The play will star Emma O’Grady as Nuala Kelly. The production director is Caroline Lynch and the lighting designer is Mike O’Halloran. Writer Tara McKevitt won the RTE PJ O'Connor Award for the radio version of Grenades n 2010. That year also saw Grenades premiered at Galway Theatre Festival.
