Galway rowers have added another title to their collection.

The four young women from the Tribesmen Rowing Club, Lisa Dilleen, Rachel Eagan, Sarah Eagan, and Aisling Harris , have won the Women’s Junior 18 event at the recent British Indoor Rowing Championships in Birmingham. It is the crew’s second recognized title having claimed success at the European championships in Cork early this year.

The crew won the event team in an outstanding time of 3.34.0 minutes over 1,500 metres. Lisa Dilleen also won the Women’s Junior 18 heavyweight single event in a 7.06.3 record time over 2,000 metres.

The titles are a deserved reward for the crew that trained twice a day, seven days a week, for the event. Coaches Geroid Michell and Robin Winkels are now preparing the crew for the World Championships in Austria later in the year.
