Lower road tax for more efficient new Suzuki SX4

Suzuki's urban sport crossover, the SX4, has been given a new look and the 1.5 litre engine has also been upgraded. It also benefits from lower C02 emissions, lower road tax, and lower fuel consumption. Prices start at €17,385 for the GLX hatchback version.

The new 1.5 petrol engine is now 109bhp, boasts a 10 per cent increase in power and performance, and has emissions of 139g/km, making it a Band B car for annual road tax of €156 a year. Suzuki now tells us that combined fuel consumption is lowered to 46mpg, which represents an 11 per cent increase in fuel efficiency over the previous model.

The SX4 hatchback has a new front bumper and grille, as well as new five-spoke, 16-inch alloy wheels. It also gets new front and rear skid plates to help it handle the rigours of outdoor life.

The interior also gets a facelift. There is a new meter cluster with an integrated digital information display, and control panel for the air conditioning system. And in response to customer demand, Suzuki has provided backlighting for the steering-wheel-mounted audio switches and for the headlamp levelling device for enhanced convenience.

Other new touches of luxury include soft pads on the door armrests, chrome-plated door handles, and a dashboard centre speaker And safety features include six airbags.
