Anthony Ryan’s Holy Communion fashion show takes place next week

Anthony Ryan’s annual fashion show devoted exclusively to Holy Communion wear will take place at the Shop Street store on Wednesday January 12 at 7.30pm.

Parents and their children who are making their First Holy Communion this year are invited to come along to view the event.

The fashion show will preview this season’s collection of exclusive communion wear with the clothes being modelled by children from local schools.

It will feature both boys’ and girls’ fashions and Ryans will show all the latest trends in Holy Communion wear.

A spokesperson for Anthony Ryans says its communion wear prices are designed to meet all budgets.

“Experienced assistants are on hand to assist you in finding that perfect communion outfit. Deposits are accepted and Ryans also offer an easy payment scheme as well as their communion savings club. Simply top up your communion club card on a weekly/monthly basis and redeem the value on the savings card towards the cost of the communion outfit when purchasing at Anthony Ryans.”

For girls, Ryans stock exclusive internationally designed ranges, such as ‘The Isabella Collection’, ‘White Angel’ and from ‘Brian Corella’. These offer the greatest choice in both styling and price. Sizes start at age seven and continue up to ‘size plus’ catering for faster growing children.

Styles are simple, elegant and classically romantic. Ankle length and full length dresses are particularly evident this year with the princess style lending a fairytale feeling.

Satin and organza tend to be the most popular fabrics. Embroidery tends to be discreet and large simple bow ties or buttons to the back are a strong feature. Headdresses and head tiers are simple and elegant while dresses with boleros complete the total look.

Accessories such as bags, gloves, umbrellas, socks and tights complete the look. You can also get Holy Communion footwear which is sold in satin finishes and ballet styles.

Boys’ communion fashions vary greatly but the classic jacket and tie is still the favourite. Ryan’s offer dapper formal suits, less formal waistcoat suits or casual looks from its boyswear department.

The fashion show will take place on the first floor of the shop and while there is no charge numbers are limited. There will also be a 10 per cent discount off all Holy Communion wear purchased on the night. Tickets for the event are available at the store and can be reserved by telephoning (091 ) 567061.
