How to dress up and dress down your favourite dress

I have been asked on several occasions about the best ways to dress up and dress down for various occasions. This week I want to focus on how to dress up and dress down your favourite dress. Let’s take the example of this elegant red dress from Standun boutique. It is versatile and feminine, comes in green, purple, or black, and it will suit most shapes.

For a fun day look team it with black tights, kitten heels or boots, and a cropped leather jacket. Finish the look with a warm coloured knitted scarf wrapped around your neck.

During the office hours wear it with blouse and a pair of ankle high heels. Go for a cape in a contrasting colour, such as dark grey, and complement the look with a hat and a satchel bag.

In the evening glam this dress up with a metallic belt and statement earrings. Finish the look with a faux fur stole.

One last note — take into account the following: if the dress is plain, accentuate it with statement accessories. If the dress has patterns or details, then keep the accessories a little more demure.

The right bra can make all the difference in how any outfit looks. Downstairs in Corbett Court Shopping Centre, the staff in Elegant Undies pride themselves in their expert fitting service and the wide range of sizes and styles stocked.
