Connacht rugby players strike a pose for COPE

Up-close and personal shots of Connacht Rugby stars can be seen in a new calendar created to raise money in the fight against homelessness.

The calendar is a first for Connacht Rugby, and features members of the team in group and individual poses.

The calendar is the brain child of Clare O’Regan of CORE photography, who spent two days taking the photographs at the Galway Sportsground.

All proceeds raised from the calendar, which cost €10 each, will be used directly by COPE Galway in its services for the homeless, and women and children who experience domestic violence.

Connacht Rugby marketing manager Fiona Keys says the calendar should have wide appeal.

“We are delighted with the finished calendar, ” she says. “Rugby is a very physical sport and as a result the players are very strong and powerful, which is what we wanted to portray in the calendar. The calendar will appeal to fans of rugby and rugby players.”

The Calendar is available from Elvery’s Sports shops, Connacht Rugby Branch office, Connacht Rugby home matches, COPE Galway website, and directly from COPE Galway
