Matthew Sweeney goes Over The Edge

THE POET Matthew Sweeney, whose work has been shortlisted for the TS Eliot Award and The Irish Times/Poetry Now Award will be reading in Galway.

Mr Sweeney will be the main reader at the next Over The Edge: Open Reading in the Galway City Library, St Augustine Street, on Thursday November 18 at 6.30pm.

Mr Sweeney was born in Donegal and now lives in Cork city. His poetry collections include A Dream of Maps (1981 ), Blue Shoes (1989 ), Cacti (1989 ), The Bridal Suite (1997 ), Black Moon (2007 ), and The Night Post (2010 ).

Also reading is James O’Toole, whose poetry has been published in Poetry Ireland Review and also in literary magazines in the USA, and Artspace Studios’ Laura Brennan whose work combines painting, drawing, and writing.
