The Apprentice under investigation after Supermac’s episode

TV3’s latest hit The Apprentice is under investigation by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland for product placement after the recent episode featuring Supermac’s.

Product placement, although legal in both the US and Britain, is banned in Ireland. Last week the BCI confirmed it is following up a complaint but TV3 insists it did nothing wrong.

A spokesperson said last week, “"We have not breached any regulation. Everything was completely legal."

Supermac’s flagship restaurants in both Dublin and Galway were featured in the episode in question. The task saw the two teams battle it out to maximise profits.
