Maeve Carney to launch debut album with Kinvara gig

MAEVE CARNEY, the Kinvara based singer, will officially launch her new album, Let It Happen, with a concert in Johnston’s Hall, Kinvara, on Saturday at 8.30pm.

The 11 track album contains a wide variety of song including Maeve’s interpretation of Edith Piaf’s ‘If You Love Me (Really Love Me )’, Gershwin’s ‘Someone To Watch Over Me’, Scottish folk ballad ‘Skye boat Song’, WB Yeats’ ‘Sally Gardens’, and English folk song ‘Scarborough Fair’.

Following several years of study at Bel Canto School of Singing, Maeve performed with Lyric Opera Chorus and the Cantabile Singers in the National Concert Hall and other venues throughout Dublin. These performances allowed her to develop her vocal range as a soprano. She now studies with Michel Durham-Brandt of Durham Voice Studio in Galway.

Maeve sings regularly in Dunguaire Castle and is also one of a team of volunteer cantors singing at 12.30pm Mass in Galway Cathedral.

Admission is €10. Let It Happen is available from Zhivago, from several outlets in Kinvara, and on line at www.maevecairney.com
