Lentil sausage stew

This very easy recipe mixes traditional comfort food with heart-healthy lentils, the perfect combination for a warming dinner on winter evenings.

300g green lentils

Six pork free range sausages, chopped

100g smoked bacon, diced

One onion, chopped finely

One clove garlic, crushed

Salt and pepper


Firstly soak the lentils for an hour.

In the Aga casserole dish on the simmering plate pour a dollop of olive oil, followed by the diced smoked bacon, sausages, onion, garlic, and cook until the sausages have browned.

Stir in the drained lentils and cover with water.

Place in the roasting oven for 30 minutes.
