Go Over The Edge at Cúirt

THE OVER The Edge readings are an essential part of the city’s literary scene, so it is appropriate that it also features as a now regular part of Cúirt.

The 2010 Cúirt Festival Over The Edge showcase reading takes place at the Town Hall Theatre on Thursday April 22 at 3pm. The featured authors are Geraldine Mitchell, Cristina Galvin, Tom Lavelle, Marcella Morgan, and Áine Tierney.

Geraldine Mitchell was born in Dublin, and has lived in Mayo, France, Algeria, Spain, and England where she taught English and worked as a freelance journalist.

Her publications include two novels for young people and a biography. Her poems have been published in Irish journals and in the Oxfam Calendar 2009. She also won the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award in 2008.

Cristina Galvin teaches yoga and she writes fiction and non-fiction from a child’s point of view. Her poetry has featured in Ink For Air and Three Times Daily. Tom Lavelle’s poems have appeared in Revival, Crannóg, West 47 online, The Cúirt Annual, ROPES, and The Shop.

Marcella Morgan is a tailor by profession and regularly takes part in poetry slams. Áine Tierney’s writing have appeared in various magazines and newspapers and she had a short story published in the Silverfish anthology.
