Leading DJ Krafty Kuts @ Kelly’s

KRAFTY KUTS, one of the world’s leading DJs, will be spinning the decks at Kelly’s, Bridge Street, this Sunday at 10pm.

Krafty (aka Martin Reeves ) began his musical career in the early 1990s as a hip-hop and electro fan. Inspired by this music, his first time stepping behind a pair of decks was when he entered a DJ competition and incredibly made it all the way to the final.

Immersing himself in the music, Martin went on to run one of Brighton’s most popular record shops throughout the rest of the decade. His first big break came when a dubplate of his ‘Gimme The Funk’ found its way to Norman Cook who immediately snapped it up for his Southern Fried label, releasing it to huge club approval.

Since then Martin has gone on to enjoy enormous success. He has gained many of dance music’s top accolades including Best International DJ at the Australian Dance Music Awards, Breakspoll’s Face of Breaks 2003, Best Breaks DJ at the M8 Ibiza awards 2006, and Best Album and Best DJ at Breakspoll 2007.

He has also created music for a Coca Cola advert, PlayStation 2, and Guy Richie’s Mean Machine, as well as mixing a cover mount CD for Mixmag, and DJing on tour with the Rolling Stones.

Admission is €12.50. See www.myspace.com/djkraftykuts
