Galway to mark International Day Against Racism

Galway city will mark International Day Against Racism with an event in the Amnesty International Café, Middle Street, tomorrow from 4pm to 6pm.

Various speakers will discuss issues of tackling racism and inequality through community development. Speakers include Anastasia Crickley, UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination; Sen Franklin Siakor of the Liberian parliament; Ann Irwin, Community Workers’ Co-operative; Margaret Ó Riada, Galway Traveller Movement; and Claire Davey, Galway Refugee Support Group.

The event is organised by the Community Workers’ Co-operative with the support of Amnesty International Galway, Galway Traveller Movement, and the Galway Refugee Support Group.
