Dan Murphy is new president of Skål International Galway

Dan Murphy of the Galway Bay Hotel has been named as the new president of the Galway Branch of Skål International, the networking tourism organisation.

At its latest meeting, John Ryan ended his two year tenure as president, and passed over his chain of office to Mr Murphy. The Galway Branch of Skal International is in existence for 40 years and is a very active organisation holding events monthly.

Mr Murphy said that he was honoured to take up the presidency and was excited with the year ahead. He has been an active member of Skål Galway for a decade and hopes to use that experience to continue the good work that has been carried out by previous presidents who have ensured that the organisation has gone from strength to strength over the last number of years.

His ambition is that all members enjoy the activities that are planned for the upcoming year and that everyone can “relax, unwind and network” at them, fondly known as Mr Murphy’s “RUN” objective.

Some of the upcoming events include barbecues, boat trips, and attending greyhound racing and many other fun events. For anyone working in the tourism industry who wishes to get further information about becoming a member of Skål contact Tom O’Dwyer at [email protected].
