Work begins on JCI Galway City and County Tourist Guide

Work has commenced on the JCI Galway City and County Tourist Guide for 2010, which is celebrating its 43rd year, and is an ideal platform for businesses to reach the thousands of visitors to the west in the summer months.

Produced in association with Fáilte Ireland, the 100 page guide contains detailed listings of events, driving and walking tours, as well as featured articles on historical and cultural landmarks throughout Galway city and county. The guide is produced annually by volunteer members of JCI Galway as a service to the community and is distributed locally, nationally, and internationally, guaranteeing maximum exposure for featured advertisers.

JCI Galway expects another exciting tourist season for Galway. Last June saw the hugely successful staging of a leg of the renowned Volvo Ocean Race in Galway, with the race organisers citing the Galway stopover as the highlight of the entire event. June 2010 is set to bring an equally prestigious and exciting event to Galway Bay and its environs. The Round Ireland Powerboating Event will take place in Galway from June 5 to 12. The race will start and finish in Galway and is set to be the highlight of the international powerboat racing scene. The Round Ireland Event will be the centrepiece of a week long festival in Galway and it is expected that some 350,000 people will attend for this festival.

The 2010 JCI Galway Tourist Guide will contain a complete programme of events for the festival and will undoubtedly serve as an invaluable guide to visitors attending the event and holidaying in Galway city and county.

JCI Galway is a not-for-profit organisation led and coordinated by volunteers and is affiliated to Junior Chamber International, which involves more than 250,000 members worldwide. JCI Galway was founded in Galway in 1961 and is made up of young people who want to get involved in the community and make a difference. For more information log onto www.jci-galway.org
