Charley Pride is heading west

CHARLEY PRIDE, one of the best loved and most successful of all country and western singers, is coming back to Ireland and is heading west to play two concerts.

Charley will play Leisureland, Salthill, on Wednesday November 11 at 8pm and the TF Royal Theatre, Castlebar, on Friday 13 at 8pm.

Between 1969, when he first hit Number One on the singles chart with ‘All I Have to Offer You (Is Me )’, and 1984 when he commanded the top spot again with ‘Every Heart Should Have One’, Charley scored more than 36 Number One country singles.

Pride is one of the Top 20 best-selling country artists of all-time with more than 70 million albums sold (31 gold, four platinum, and one quadruple platinum ). On RCA Records, he is second in sales only to Elvis Presley.

Many of his songs have now become classics such as ‘Kiss An Angel Good Morning’, ‘Is Anybody Goin’ To San Antone?’, ‘I’m So Afraid of Losing You Again’, ‘Mississippi Cotton Picking Delta Town’, ‘Someone Loves You Honey’, and ‘You’re So Good When You’re Bad’.
