Clarinbridge Arts Festival

THE CLARINBRIDGE Arts Festival takes place from Friday October 2 to Sunday 11 with a host of music concerts, exhibitions, readings, and events to enjoy.

The festival will start on October 2 with a concert of bluegrass and country music from the Niall Toner Band at Paddy Burke’s. On Friday 9 Kimber’s Men will play Moran’s Of The Weir. There will also be a gig with TG4 Musician of the Year 2009 Charlie Harris.

Other highlights include Words and Music of the Sea, featuring broadcaster and writer John Quinn; Music, Poetry and Song from Deep Inside the Human Heart, featuring Lynn Saoirse (harper ), Dr Robyn Rowland (poet ), and Gary Banks (singer-songwriter ); and poet Terry McDonagh and artist Sally McKenna will bring illustrations and words to life in Cill Aodáin & Nowhere Else celebrating a sense of place and the renowned Gaelic poet, Raifteirí.

Taking the O out of Ort, directed by Denise Hogan of Art Essence Gallery will give family members the opportunity to create their own work of art; there will be stories from the Galway GAA legends, and outdoor guided walks and talks with author Noël P Wilkins and John Flanagan (Coillte ) in Clarinbridge Woods.
