New presenter Eibhlín Ní Chonghaile is set to give the Iris Aniar a whole new look.

Iris Aniar, the Galway magazine programme on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, gets a makeover this autumn when Eibhlín Ní Chonghaile takes over as presenter.

Ní Chonghaile, from Connemara, comes to the programme from the current affairs division of RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta. As well as her work in radio, Ms Ní Chonghaile has worked with Sky News Ireland, Nuacht RTÉ and TG4, where she recently presented the successful dating programme Eochair an Ghrá. Ms Ní Chonghaile is very excited about the her new role and is looking forward to the challenge of presenting a programme that combines both news and entertainment in one.

Iris Aniar will be produced by Máirtín Mhic Dhonnchadha, who formerly produced the SBB Aniar morning programme and presented the education programme Céim ar Chéim. Iris Aniar covers events and news from the west of Ireland, and has regular competitions which attracts a large number of entries from listeners. Mhic Dhonnchadha and Ní Chonghaile have a few new features planned for the programme when it starts again, but they are remaining tight-lipped about them as yet.

Listen in to Iris Aniar, Monday to Friday 9.08am on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, from September 7
