Fancy a career as a make-up artist?

The School of Make Up Artistry and Business Training offers courses designed to teach all levels of students, from beginners to advanced, which are suitable for all age groups. Based at Briarhill, Galway, the school provides interesting courses which cover all aspects of make-up artistry.

Seventy five per cent of the course time is practical work, which allows the student to reach a level of proficiency and competence before qualifying. The most successful students are the ones with the most interest to learn.

Qualifications from these courses are currently recognised in Ireland, UK, Europe, Australia, Bahrain, China, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Japan, Kenya, Malta, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, USA, and Zimbabwe.

The tutors are highly qualified, with many years of experience, and up to date training. Eighty per cent of past pupils have been placed through the school in secure positions with top cosmetic companies including MAC, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, and Creme de la Mer. Former students now work as cosmetic consultants, make-up artists, and cosmetic counter managers in Brown Thomas stores and leading cosmetic pharmacies throughout Ireland, while others have gone on to successfully run their own make-up studios.

The courses are ideal for those who would like to qualify as a make-up artist and start a business of their own. The course is also very useful for those already working in the beauty field to reach a level of perfection in make-up artistry. The School of Make-up Artistry is supported by MAC cosmetics. This enables students to become MAC pro student members. It also provides students with the opportunity to attend selected masterclasses throughout the year and to receive a discount in any of the MAC pro stores. Students in diploma courses are also given the opportunity to purchase a MAC kit at a 35 per cent discount.
