Galway to host theatre festival next month

Just when you thought Galway could not possibly come up with any more festivals, a new one is launched, and for theatre lovers it is sure to be a welcome one.

The Galway Theatre Festival, a new venture by the Galway Arts Centre runs from October 22 to 25 at the Nuns Island Studio.

The festival begins with Zelig Theatre’s production of Cathal Cleary’s Birds Birds Birds on October 22 and 23; Dragonfly Theatre will present the world premiere of Shona McCarthy’s Reptilian on October 23 and 24; Carol Ann Duffy’s comedy The Worlds Wife, featuring characters such as Mrs Freud and Queen Kong, will be staged by Mephisto Theatre on October 24 and 25; while Dennis Kelly’s thriller After The End will be staged by Moonfish Theatre on October 25.
