Galway Arts Festival box office opens on Monday

The Galway Arts Festival Box Office will open in Merchants Hall, 1-5 Merchants Road, Galway at 10am on Monday.

Galway Arts Festival 2009 will run for July 13 to 26 and play host to the Michael Clark Company, Kronos Quartet, Druid, David Hockney, Spiritualized, Primal Scream, Femi Kuti, Candi Staton, Booker T, Propeller Theatre Company, Royal Exchange Theatre, Bon Iver, and the ABSOLUT Art Collection.

Online ticket sales have been very good to date for many of the Irish and International events. Big Top tickets are selling very quickly for Bon Iver, David Gray, Femi Kuti, Primal Scream, Spiritualized, and David Holmes. Other hot tickets include the world renowned Michael Clark Dance Company and Circa, which return to Galway with the European premiere of its physically astounding new show Furioso.

“The response to this year’s programme has been phenomenal with an unprecedented rush for tickets,” said festival director Paul Fahy. “Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Edward Hall for his company Propeller has generated huge interest and the return of Tom Murphy to Druid Theatre with The Gigli Concert directed by Garry Hynes.”
