Residential Branch of the Year Award

Sherry FitzGerald’s Galway branch was presented with the company’s Residential Branch of the Year 2023 award at its traditional in-person annual conference held recently in Dublin.

The Galway office, which opened its doors in 1998 in the heart of Galway City, is headed by Tony Kavanagh and managed by Lorraine Scully.

It services over 30 locations in Galway City and County, specialising in residential sales and valuations together with a residential letting & management service.

Mr Kavanagh accepted the award on behalf of his team, paying tribute to their hard work and professionalism at all times.

In 2022 the team handled some significant sales including the two highest value sales in both the city and county of Galway at Seamount, Salthill and Ervallagh, Roundstone, in addition to numerous other sales and the launch of a number of new developments in Galway City and Oranmore.

“We are delighted and honoured to have been awarded the prestigious Residential Branch of the Year within the Sherry FitzGerald Group,” said Mr Kavanagh.

“The standards are high and to come out on top within that forum is not an easy task. All credit is due to the hard work and professionalism of our experienced and committed team,” he added.

Sherry FitzGerald returned to their traditional style in-person annual conference for the event, with an attendance of over 400 professionals from across the company’s network of owned and franchised offices.

This year’s event was in association with The Irish Times Group and supported by Pinergy and McCann FitzGerald.

Guest speakers on the day included Republic of Ireland women’s national team manager Vera Pauw, who shared her remarkable tale of triumph against the odds, and her insights into management and people which can drive success in any environment.

Galway native Steven McKenna, CEO, Sherry FitzGerald Group opened the conference with a rousing address where he noted the significance of the large numbers gathered from across a network of over 100 offices nationwide.

“Noting the company celebrating 40 years in business, he looked to the next 40 years through a “lens of sustainability” remarking that “Sherry FitzGerald is fully committed to building a sustainable future and contributing positively to the communities we serve.

“As industry leaders, we must continue to find solutions to some of Ireland’s greatest societal challenges such as the ongoing housing crisis. Through our innovation, collaboration, and determination we must continue to contribute and help build a more sustainable housing market for generations to come,” he said.
