Apple recognises Galway Educate Together Secondary School for digital innovation in education

Galway Educate Together Secondary School has been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School for 2022–2025 for its innovative use of iPads to promote a 21st century culture of learning firmly underpinned by the activation of student voice.

Apple Distinguished Schools are centres of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. They use Apple technology to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking in learning, teaching, and the school environment, and have documented results of academic accomplishment.

Galway Educate Together Secondary School, located in the former Mercy Convent secondary school building in Newtownsmith, provides each pupil with an iPad to facilitate learning, innovation, and collaboration among students. Each classroom also has an Apple TV, and teachers use Apple pencils.

It is the only school in the west to have received this title. Apple representative Éanna Ó Brádaigh visited the school yesterday (Wednesday ) to make a formal presentation.

Galway Educate Together Secondary School was established in 2019 and has just over 200 pupils from first year to transition year.
