Learn valuable tech skills with Fastrack to Information Technology

Since 1999, Fastrack to Information Technology (FIT ) has been a representative organisation of the technology sector committed to growing Ireland’s tech talent pipeline. The aim is to create wider access to tech skills training leading to exciting career paths and quality employment opportunities for all those who have a curiosity and passion for technology.

FIT is the National Coordinator of three innovative ICT tech apprenticeships at NFQ Level 6, network engineering, software development, and cyber security, with a fourth in cloud computing currently in development.

Choose Tech is a free school programme organised by FIT that seeks to engage young people (15 to 20 years ) in DEIS schools and Youthreach centres throughout the country. The aim is to provide further opportunities and links to tech apprenticeships, as it will provide a framework for the provision of skilling opportunities for young people with the support of their educators to kick-start their careers in technology. Choose Tech can be used for:

· Special achievement task for LCA students.

· School completion programme.

· CPD for educators.

· Mapping Choose Tech modules to curricula.

· Work experience and portfolios for TY students.

Choose Tech is free, user friendly, and can be accessed on laptops, phones, and tablets anywhere. Teachers have access to a back office where they can see the progress of their students, as well as support and guidance from the FIT Choose Tech team.
