Halloween weekend at An Taibhdhearc

An Taibhdhearc's version of a festival kicks off this Halloween weekend. From Thursday to Sunday, there are comedy shows, celebrations of traditional Gaelic music, lively gigs and even a night dedicated to a reimagined soundtrack of the 'Man of Aran'. Here's the full lineup of what is still available to book.

Gáire as Gaeilge: A night of stand-up comedy as part of the Galway Comedy Festival, An Taibhdhearc will host a line-up of the best Irish speaking comedians who will deliver 90 minutes of jokes “as Gaeilge”. Potentially the most fun you can ever have in Irish... the craic will be 90!

Cuairt nan Òran: Liam Ó Maonlaí is joined by Gàidhlig singer Kathleen MacInnes and piper & flautist Alana MacInnes from the Outer Hebrides of Scot land for this special Cuairt nan Òran performance. This trio will give and take from both sides of the Irish Sea to compare and celebrate Gaelic music - the tunes and songs that make up the great Celtic culture shared between Scotland and Ireland.

Fleadh Town: Fleadh Town is a unique traditional Irish music band consisting of eight of the most dynamic players on the scene today, who have toured and recorded with some of the greats. The gig promises to be a lively night full of tunes featuring Don Stiffe (Vocals and Guitar ), Damien Stenson (Flute ), Brian Mc Grath (Banjo and Keyboards ) Mareka Naito (Fiddle ), Laura Thomas (Vocals ), Steve Hanks (Saxophone, Clarinet, Percussion ), Michael Mc Cague (Guitar and Bouzouki ) and Damien Quinn (Bodhran and Guitar ).

Man of Aran by DJ Shampain: A radical musical adaptation of the 1934 film Man of Aran by Robert Flaherty. Watch an island turned into hell with a reimagined soundtrack performed live by DJ Shampain. Step into the world of theatre, and be drawn into a fight against the unfathomable power of the sea.
