Summer 2022 was a sell out season, and if like many Galwegians you didn’t manage to get away, you might well be in need of a break this winter.

With the days getting shorter and the temperatures dropping it might be time to plan a sunshine break to shorten the long winter ahead.

The Canary Islands offer year round sunshine and there are flights available from Shannon to Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and Tenerife, offering great value if you can book in advance.

It is not only the beautiful sandy beaches and warm waters that attract holiday makers to the islands. Hiking, cycling, windsurfing, diving, not to mention great restaurants and fine dining make the Canary Islands a firm favorite with Irish holidaymakers.

If you would like something with a bit more culture, Morocco is back on for the winter. Bargaining at the souks, trekking, and yoga retreats are only some of the activities available in this idyllic destination. Morocco has so much to offer, including very good value for money.
