Muldoon enjoys a busy rugby schedule for Ireland

Connacht’s John Muldoon is enjoying a busy schedule during the summer break.

Fresh from playing for Ireland against Canada and Eddie O’Sullivan’s USA side, he now will lead the Ireland A side in the Churchill Cup campaign which takes place in Denver, Colorado.

The Connacht skipper will captain Ireland against Canada XV next Wednesday in their opening game, having won his first senior cap against Canada the weekend before last. On Sunday he made his second appearance in the 27-10 win over Eddie O’Sullivan’s US Eagles. Connacht’s Gavin Duffy was also on the side, along with Ian Keatley, who also made his Irish debut to crown a successful first season with the province.

Muldoon is one of five Connacht players in the Ireland A squad for the Churchill Cup campaign.

Sean Cronin, who was in the senior squad but did not come off the bench against Canada or the United States, will also be in Denver, alongside centre Keith Matthews, scrumhalf Frank Murphy,and winger Fionn Carr.
